Preheader text is displayed next to the subject line most commonly on mobile devices, Gmail, and Outlook (with certain notification settings). Some mobile devices (like Android) will block images by default, making preheader text even more important since this might be one of the first things that the subscriber sees before enabling images and opening your email.
