Friends and professional contacts often ask me why I chose to join ExactTarget after 7 years with my previous employer. There are numerous reasons, but the one that stands out the most is the incredible opportunities ExactTarget offers its employees.
And it all starts with recruiting – finding the right candidates for the right interactive marketing positions. Every person we bring in from Sao Paulo to Seattle must be an ORANGE culture fit. As part of the Global Talent Acquisition Team, I work on filling a variety of roles in various markets. I especially love helping fill key positions that are a blend of technical jobs and marketing jobs. Currently, these roles are based in two of our fastest-growing offices in Seattle and San Francisco and service one of ExactTarget’s most high-profile global clients.
A great example is our Seattle-based QA Specialist (also an open position in San Francisco) who makes sure creative email campaigns are flawlessly executed (experience level 1-3 years). Two additional roles (Production Specialist and Interactive Developer) dig into the front-end HTML coding of the creative email campaigns. These are true technical titans that love putting all the pieces together. The Campaign Manager is someone who loves being client-facing and also possesses the technical know-how and experience to understand what goes into a successful interactive marketing campaign. This person serves as the team “quarterback” and seamlessly communicates between the client and their ExactTarget team.
When I first started and attended ExactTarget’s "Officially Orange: New Employee Orientation," I found myself in a class with coworkers from all over the world, including several teammates starting in the above roles from both Seattle and San Francisco. Though they each had different roles, they shared similar outgoing and creative personalities. They were excited by the ability to prove their technical abilities on such a talented team.
