As I sat in my usual seats across from the fastest cars in the field at the Indianapolis 500 Sunday, I felt my pulse quicken as we went through the traditional pre-race festivities. Only one thing beats "God Bless America" by Florence Henderson, the military salute, "Back Home Again in Indiana" with Jim Nabors and the balloon launch... the flying start. The flying start of the Indianapolis 500 is truly a sight to see. My favorite 500 memory is of a time when my dad convinced a "yellow shirt" (track worker) to let us stand in Stand E's stairwell (in the heart of turn 1) for the flying start. There is nothing like seeing 33 cars in their 11 row formation coming up to speed right towards you!
This year, my favorite moment was watching Tony Kanaan pass 8 cars in the first half lap and work his way from 33rd place to eventually running 2nd for a significant part of the race. Fuel strategies, pit stops and the heat combined to make for an amazing race.
Just as racing teams have a game plan, so do email marketing programs. The flying start has a lot of similarities to getting off the ground with a sending plan. One of my favorite things about our new release is that it contains tools to make this flying start a success for anyone! We have several new tools coming out that will allow email marketers to implement "best practices" quickly and easily...some highlights:

One of my favorite things about our new release is that it contains tools to make this flying start a success for anyone! We have several new tools coming out that will allow email marketers to implement "best practices" quickly and easily...some highlights:
- Welcome Emails...we'll have a new feature to allow marketers to set up an automatic welcome email if someone is added to a list without the additional programming steps needed today.
- Date-Based Automated Emails...Ever wanted to send a birthday email but didn't have the ability to get one off the ground...our new tool allows you to set up a basic date-based automated send as a standard tool in all accounts.
- Test Send...feeling daunted by all of the different email clients you need to check for rendering on before sending, our new test send feature will make testing key email client rendering (Outlook, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc) much easier.
