They say that “two is better than one.” But when it
comes to interactive marketing, I’d have to disagree.

I think that ONE is better than two.
We’ve all heard that siloed marketing is
unsustainable and a thing of the past—if you keep your interactive
marketing data separate from your social, website, point of sale,
and other customer data, providing a cohesive brand experience for
the end consumer seems further and further away. After all, your
customers don’t silo their interactionswith your brand—why should
you?
So, how can you unsilo your marketing and start
functioning as ONE cohesive unit?

In the same week that Microsoft annoucned plans to buyer over $1
billion in AOL patents Facebook decides to purchase the photo
sharing site Instagram for $1 billion. As

in both price and reach. With around 30 million active users,
Instagram has the largest audience."
What's it mean? Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, explained
that the purchase was to help the social networking giant build the
BEST experience for sharing photos with friends. Period.
For years, we’ve focused on building the best experience for

Actions and Action Response “AR”
There are a variety of actions within Facebook Ads or Pages
including when a user clicks “Like”, “RSVP” or selects a custom
action. Another way to think of actions is to think of the
traditional “Call-to-Action” like click, call or download. AR

has announced the launch of
Google+ Pages which allows
brands and businesses to create a presence on Google+. With Google+
Pages, brands can now publish and manage conversations on

unique features I am keeping my eye as they evolve the
platform:
-
Direct Connect:
A key differentiators from other social networks is that Google
tools, like search or Gmail, are integral to how we interact
online. A Google+ Page feature is Direct Connect that makes
it simple for people to connect with a brand page by letting people

one of the greatest challenges facing email marketers: How do I

Many
organizations don’t fit squarely into a B2B or B2C bucket. More
often, companies have multiple marketing teams, divisions or
business units that focus on different marketing and sales
objectives. One team may manage vendor or partner relationships;
another drives online sales; while yet another supports a lengthy
direct sales cycle.
We are in the midst of a transformational shift in the Revenue
Performance Management market whereby:
- The buying process has changed; customers now touch dozens of
online and offline information sources before they ever talk to a
sales representative or buy...

The Interactive Marketing Hub Beta 1 has been a great experience
for us here at ExactTarget.
We have been able to provide some new features and functions give
our customers better visibility to their Interactive Marketing

of the Beta 1 participants and got some great feedback. Our Beta 1
participants included customers...

At ExactTarget we say that your brand is the sum of all of the
conversations about your brand. It's an accurate statement but hard
to measure. With the Interactive Marketing Hub we are providing you
with a quick way to measure your brand: your number of Subscribers
Fans and Followers. It makes sense and it's simple. If you have
read our research on Subscribers, Fans, and Followers (if you
haven't read our research go here and do
it now!), you know that each of these groups have very different
expectations and motivations for engaging with you. But there is
also overlap between the groups, so...

Websites
have evolved so much since the inception of the World Wide Web. I
recall first receiving a book on HTML for my 13th birthday and
being incredibly excited to begin making my first Web pages. (Note:
for those asking why I was coding HTML at age 13, I often ask
myself the same question.) Back then, you had your website
published on something like Geocities, Angelfire, or some other
free provider who was willing to take on the expense of hosting
while displaying horrific ads to monetise their business model.
Only if you were serious did you have a domain!
Fast forward to now, where RSS is...

ExactTarget
provides our customers the ability to market through email, mobile,
social, and sites—but why is that combination so powerful? The
answer is the data and connectivity—which provides marketers the
ability to communicate in a consistent, targeted, and branded
manner across channels while honoring consumer preferences.
There are many companies out there
who specialize in Landing Page marketing—but ExactTarget Landing
Pages are different because they are integrated with the same data
and technology customers use to power the rest of the interactive
marketing campaigns.

Today, over 110 million Americans are engaged in social media.
But what keeps consumers coming back for more? As businesses and
consumers continue to sign on and sign up, marketers are developing
integrated strategies to increase engagement with consumers
online.
Research shows that 70% of consumers who "fanned" a brand on
Facebook didn't feel they'd given the company permission to market
to them. Typically users view being a 'fan' as a means of self
expression to their Facebook friends and social community. This
puts brands in a unique situation where they must find ways to
communicate...
