Today, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook posted the following on his Facebook page:
"This morning, there are more than one billion people using Facebook actively each month. If you're reading this: thank you for giving me and my little team the honor of serving you.
Helping a billion people connect is amazing, humbling and by far the thing I am most proud of in my life. I am committed to working every day to make Facebook better for you, and hopefully together one day we will be able to connect the rest of the world too."
The responses have been overwhelmingly positive. So while he's thanking his users in a seeminly humble way, he's also showing brands how to best use Facebook to drive the kind of engagement every CEO would love. Here's what he did, that you can do to!
He wrote a very personal, human message.
The message was brief and to the point. There was only one message and that was -- we are huge, thanks to you -- and this is just the beginning
The message was timely. He used a milestone, in real time to connect to his audience. Make sure you are ready to captialize on key milestones and determine who best in the organization should share this information
- He doesn't post often -- which makes it news! Save the big news for the CEO, and have her share it in a very personal way.
Thanks Zuck! You made my day! :)
