As someone who does a lot of public speaking on behalf of ExactTarget, I'm often asked what I like about working at the company. Inevitably, one of the first answers out of my mouth is "the people." Whether at HQ in Indianapolis, one of our field events in the US or even across the globe in London, Sydney or Sao Paolo, I am always greeted by friendly faces, great conversation, and a spirit of camaraderie that we've dubbed "being orange." Occasionally, in my travels, I come across someone who exudes that spirit, and I think to myself, "We have got to get him/her on our team!" A couple of years ago, I had just such a reaction when I first met Kyle Lacy. An entrepreneur, social media consultant, and author of two books: Twitter Marketing for Dummies (Wiley, 2009) and Branding Yourself (Pearson, 2010), Kyle has an unbridled passion for marketing and helping companies build lasting and profitable relationships with subscribers, fans, and followers.
Thanks to a bit of fate and good fortune on our part, I'm pleased to announce that Kyle will now be bringing that passion to the ExactTarget! As a principal member of our Marketing Research & Education Team, Kyle will continue to explore the ever-evolving world of social media and its intersection with email, mobile, and other interactive channels. Very soon, you'll see his byline among those on the ExactTarget blog, and we'll be collaborating on some exciting new research projects in the coming months. And, if you're very lucky, you might even get to see Kyle speaking in your neck of the woods at one of our numerous events. Trust me, you'll walk away inspired & itching to apply the insights he shares.
