The devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan have touched the hearts and minds of people around the world. For us at ExactTarget, the disaster hit closer to home as we recently launched a partnership with NTT to bring our CoTweet social media solutions to Japan. Our employees have been traveling to and from Tokyo for months - fortunately, our employees and our friends at NTT are safe. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the NTT family and the people and communities of Japan as they respond to this disaster and begin the process of cleanup and reconstruction.
Despite being thousands of miles away, our team has come together quickly to support the response and recovery efforts. We have offered CoTweet accounts at no-charge to all emergency responders, public transportation agencies, government agencies and infrastructure teams involved to help open lines of communication and manage conversations on Twitter and Facebook. We have also partnered with the Japan-America Society of Indiana to support relief efforts through a corporate donation of $5,000 and commitment to match up to $5,000 in employee contributions. I am delighted to report that our employees have already pledged $3,500!
Thank you to everyone who has reached out to support our team and these important relief efforts.
