I had the absolute pleasure to give a presentation at the Niche Digital Conference in Chicago yesterday. I wanted to share the presentation deck as well as some key points presented within the presentation. I would highly recommend this conference if you are a member of the niche publishing space. It was highly entertaining and an amazing group of people/speakers.
There are three major points within this presentation.
- Build a strong internal and external brand. Your company and magazine brand consists entirely of employee and reader perception. Remember that your best sales people are usually the readers of your niche content. It is imperative that you help support that readership through community education.
- Build Community Elements on Facebook. Use great content and entertainment to drive interaction with Facebook fans. A great Facebook strategy is not just the growing number of fans but the interaction between your most loyal advocates.
- Drive cross-channel engagement. Use email, mobile, and social together to drive interaction between all customer/reader touchpoints.
